The Aransas Pass High School Panther track teams have competed in three track meets this season before taking time off during spring break. The Panthers competed in the Mustang relays on Feb. 23 and the varsity returned with three medals and two others placing as follows: Shot put – Roland Rivas, second, 46’1”; Cayden Craven, fourth, 43’6” 100 meters – Mason Brown, fifth, 11.15 400 meters – Jacob Reyes, second, 51.50 800-meter relay – third, 1:34.18 Aransas Pass then traveled to the Pirate relays in Mathis, March 2, with the varsity finishing in 10th place, and the junior varsity boys in 11th. Team members who scored are: Varsity Long jump – Charlie Castillo, sixth, 19’2” Shot put – Roland Rivas, fourth, 44’4”; Declan McCarn, fifth, 42’4”; Cayden Craven, sixth, 41’8” 400-meter relay – Charlie Castillo, Nasean Brown, Jacob Reyes, Mason Brown, third, 44.90 100 meters – Nasean Brown, sixth, 11.29 Junior varsity Shot put – Corey Upton – first, 38’ Discus – Upton, first, 101’5” In a final meet before the break, the Panthers competed at the Toast of the Texas Coast Relays in Rockport on March 8.
